Office Moving Without Losing a Day of Trading
Planned Around Your Hours, Not Ours
Most office moves happen over a Friday night or a weekend so staff arrive on Monday to a desk that already works. We handle the planning, the crates, the labelling and the building access, and give you one written price beforehand.

What Businesses Say After Moving With Us
How Long an Office Move Actually Takes
| Size of office | Usual approach | Downtime for staff |
|---|---|---|
| Up to 10 desks | One evening after close | None, back at desks next morning |
| 10 to 30 desks | Friday evening into Saturday | None, working Monday as usual |
| 30 to 75 desks | A full weekend, phased by floor or team | None, though a Monday settling hour helps |
| 75 to 150 desks | Two weekends, or a staged midweek plan | Half a day at most per team |
| 150 desks or more | Phased across several agreed windows | Planned team by team so trading continues |
| Storage or archive only | Collected during working hours | None |
These assume a survey has been done and the new floor plan exists. Both are straightforward to arrange and both are what keep the downtime column looking like that.
Booking Before the Lease Is Signed
Businesses often wait until the lease is signed before speaking to anyone, which compresses everything into the final fortnight. There is no need. Getting a survey and a price early costs nothing and commits you to nothing.
Booking ahead also means the crates arrive with enough time for staff to pack their own desks over a few days rather than in a rush on the last afternoon, which is when things get lost.
If the date moves, and lease dates frequently do, we rebook it. An early conversation only ever leaves you better prepared.

What Shapes the Cost of an Office Move
The Expensive Part Is the Hours You Are Not Working
Volume is straightforward: desks, chairs, storage, kit and archives, counted at the survey. Access is the bigger variable, because a building with a goods lift and a loading bay works very differently from a converted townhouse with one staircase.
The expensive part is the hours you are not working
The removal itself is rarely the main cost of an office move. The real expense is a team sitting idle because the network is not up, or a morning lost to hunting for a monitor cable in an unmarked box. That is why the labelling and the sequencing matter more than the size of the van.
Everything travels crated and labelled to a position on the new floor plan, so it is unloaded straight to the desk it belongs at rather than stacked in a corridor to be sorted later. It is a small amount of planning that removes most of the Monday morning chaos, and it is included rather than sold as an upgrade.
What comes as standard
| Included | What it means for the business |
|---|---|
| Out of hours and weekend slots | No trading day lost to the move |
| Crates delivered ahead | Staff pack their own desks in their own time |
| Labelling to the new floor plan | Everything lands where it is meant to |
| Building access arranged | Lifts and loading bays booked by us |
| Crates collected afterwards | No cardboard filling the new office |
| One written price | Signed off before the move, unchanged after |
Furniture dismantling and reassembly, storage between leases and archive handling are all quoted at the survey so the figure is known in advance.
Crates Labelled by Desk, Not by Room

Delivered Early, Collected Once You Are Settled
Every crate carries a label matched to a position on the new plan, so it is carried once and put down where it belongs. Staff pack their own desk contents into their own numbered crate, which means nothing is mixed up between people and nothing needs identifying at the far end. Crates go out to you in advance, come back to us afterwards, and there is no cardboard mountain in the new office for somebody to deal with in week one.

What We Move for Businesses
Offices, studios, retail units and industrial premises, from a ten desk studio to a multi-floor headquarters. All of them are quoted the same way, against a survey and a written figure.
Desks, chairs, storage, kit and archives moved outside your trading hours, with everything crated and labelled to the new floor plan. The aim is simple: staff walk in on Monday and start working rather than spending a morning unpacking.
Under ten desks usually goes in a single evening after close. It is quick, it is priced as one figure, and nobody needs to take a day off. Popular with agencies, practices and anyone sharing a serviced building.
Workshops, retail units and warehouses moved in agreed phases so the business keeps trading. Asset lists, delivery windows and the sequence are settled before the first vehicle loads.
Records, spare furniture and equipment held between leases and returned when the new space is ready. Collected during working hours so it does not eat into the move window itself.
Worth Telling Us Early
Four things that make an office move easier when they come up early rather than on the day.
The single most useful document you can send. With it, every crate gets labelled to a destination and the unload follows a plan. Without it, things get put down in sensible-looking places that turn out to be wrong.
Servers, network kit and anything hardwired need disconnecting and reconnecting by whoever supports them, as our crews are not qualified for that work. Tell us who they are and we will coordinate timings directly with them so the two jobs dovetail.
Goods lifts, loading bays and out of hours permissions are ours to arrange once we know the buildings. Managed offices often need notice for weekend access, which is much easier to secure three weeks out than three days.
Moves run best with a single named contact who can answer questions on the day. Not a committee, just somebody who knows where things are supposed to go and can make a decision without a meeting.
Good to Know
Office Moving FAQs
How much disruption should we expect?
For most offices, none to the working week. Moves run in the evening or across a weekend so the business is trading normally either side. Larger sites are phased team by team so only part of the floor is ever affected at once.
Do staff need to pack their own desks?
It works best if they do, into their own labelled crate, because nobody else knows what belongs together. It takes about twenty minutes each and we deliver the crates well in advance. If you would rather we did it, that is available and priced at the survey.
Can you disconnect and reconnect our computers?
Monitors, docks and peripherals we handle as part of the move. Servers, network hardware and anything hardwired need your IT provider, since our crews are not qualified for that. We will work to their schedule so the two run in the right order.
Will you take our furniture apart and rebuild it?
Yes, where it has been agreed in writing beforehand so it is in the plan and in the price. Desks, partitions and larger storage units are all routine. It is quoted at the survey rather than decided on the night.
What if our new space is not ready in time?
Storage covers it. We collect on schedule, hold everything, and deliver once the space is finished. Quoted alongside the move so the cost is known in advance rather than arranged in a hurry.
Is there anything you cannot move?
Fuel, gas canisters, solvents and aerosols cannot travel. Cash, certificates and confidential originals are better carried by you. Anything needing a crane or specialist rigging we will identify at the survey and arrange separately.
What is a sensible amount of notice?
Four to six weeks is comfortable for a mid-sized office, mainly because building access and weekend permissions take time to secure. Shorter is often possible, so ask. An early booking costs nothing and commits you to nothing.
Do you work nationally?
Yes. Offices moving between cities are handled by the same crews on one written price, rather than being passed to a partner firm partway. The planning and the labelling work exactly the same way over distance.
