That last row is not a throwaway. Plenty of moves do not resemble the standard version, and it is easier for everyone if you tell us the awkward bit early rather than trying to fit it into a package that was not designed for it.
Nothing Has to Be Decided Today
You do not need a confirmed date, a finished plan or even a firm decision about how much help you want. A conversation and a survey cost nothing and commit you to nothing.
If the date moves later, tell us as early as you can and we will look at rearranging it. If you change your mind about the level of service, we requote it. Neither is a problem and neither carries a penalty.
What booking early does give you is time: crates in the house sooner, and a proper choice of date rather than whatever is left.

The volume is counted at the survey and it is almost always higher than a room count suggests, because lofts, garages, sheds and cupboards get missed when anyone estimates from memory.

A survey takes about twenty minutes, on video or at the door, and it exists so the number we give you is a price rather than a prediction. Once it is agreed against a written job sheet it does not move, provided what we collect matches what we saw.
The second half is entirely your choice, and it is worth discussing rather than assuming. People are often surprised how modest the difference is between doing all the packing themselves and having the difficult two thirds handled. We will quote the options side by side so you can decide with the numbers in front of you rather than in principle.
If what you need falls outside any of that, say so. We would rather understand the actual job and price it honestly than sell you a service that nearly fits.

No two moves are quite the same, and the service is put together to match rather than picked off a list. These are the shapes it most often takes.
The whole property, packed to whatever degree suits you, carried and placed room by room at the other end. Crew and vehicle are sized at the survey so the day runs to the length we quoted rather than drifting into the evening.
One room, one floor, or a specific list of items. Common for shares, separations, downsizing and anyone moving into a furnished place. The figure reflects only the items that are actually going, not the full house.
Where the dates do not meet, storage covers the middle and is quoted alongside the move. Belongings stay in the crates they were packed in, so nothing is handled twice and nothing needs repacking.
Not every move fits a category. If yours involves an unusual property, an awkward item, an unconventional timescale or a combination nobody has a name for, describe it and we will look at it properly and price it. The worst outcome is that we tell you honestly it is not something we can take on.
If Your Move Is Not a Standard One
Plenty of moves have something unusual about them. None of the following are problems, and all of them are easier when raised early.
That is a perfectly normal starting point. Describe the situation and we will suggest what would actually help rather than pushing the biggest package. Plenty of people end up spending less than they expected once the options are laid out.
Remote, restricted, above a business, up a track, or anything else. It is far better raised early than discovered on the day, and it is our job to work out how to handle it rather than yours.
Instruments, artwork, antiques, machinery or anything with sentimental value. Tell us what they are and we will explain how they would be handled and what cover applies, before anything is agreed.
Overnight gaps, staged moves, two properties at once, or a date that will not confirm. All of it can be planned around. Say what the constraint is and we will build the schedule to fit it.

Do I have to take a full service, or can I pick and choose?
Pick and choose. Some people want only the loading and driving, others want everything from packing to unpacking, and most land somewhere between. Tell us what would genuinely help and the quote is built to that rather than to a fixed package.
What if my move does not fit any of your usual options?
Then describe it and we will price the job as it actually is. Unusual properties, part moves, staged timings and awkward items are all worth raising. If something falls outside what we can properly take on, we will say so plainly rather than agreeing and hoping.
How much does a house move cost?
It depends on the volume and how much of the work you would like us to do, so we look first and quote against a written job sheet. If what we collect matches what was surveyed, the figure does not change on the day.
How far ahead should I get in touch?
Earlier than most people think, mainly so the crates arrive in good time and you get a real choice of date. Booking early costs nothing and commits you to nothing, so there is no risk in asking before everything is settled.
Do you supply packing materials?
Reusable crates, blankets and wardrobe rails are included and delivered ahead of the date, then collected once you have unpacked. There is nothing to buy at the start and nothing to get rid of at the end.
Can you store things if my dates do not line up?
It is, and settling it in advance is considerably simpler than sorting it at short notice. Everything stays in the crates it was packed in and is delivered on when you are ready, with the cost quoted alongside the move itself.
What cannot travel in your vehicles?
Fuel, gas canisters, solvents, paints and aerosols cannot be carried. Cash, passports, deeds, jewellery and medication are better kept with you, and plants and frozen food rarely survive the day.
