Project Overview
EcoGreen Movers was appointed by GSL Education to complete a compact office transfer between two second-floor workplaces in Manchester’s Spinningfields district. The consignment comprised three desktop computers, one desktop printer and two boxes of office materials.

The Complexities: Operational Risks
Three risks defined the operating plan.
- Business-critical IT: desktop systems and peripherals required protection from impact, component separation and incorrect delivery sequencing.
- Confidentiality: an education recruitment environment may involve data-bearing equipment and sensitive office material requiring controlled custody.
- City-centre timing: shared commercial buildings, lift dependence and restricted access all had to be coordinated inside a narrow 08:00 to 10:00 window.
Execution and Agility: The EcoGreen Response
- A device-led identification process kept each computer associated with its relevant components.
- Equipment was protected, kept upright where appropriate and separated from boxed materials.
- The two office boxes were maintained as a sealed, countable consignment.
- The printer received independent protection rather than travelling against the IT.
- A direct vehicle movement avoided intermediate handling entirely.
- The unloading sequence prioritised IT placement so the client team could begin reinstatement immediately after handover.
The Outcome
The controlled morning mobilisation supported a rapid transition between offices and limited the time business-critical equipment was unavailable. Direct custody, clear device grouping and destination-led placement reduced the risk of missing components.
The case demonstrates that small-volume IT moves can carry the same governance, confidentiality awareness and operational discipline expected on far larger corporate relocations.
